Aarogya Setu App: In this alarming situation where the whole world is combating Corona Virus, India is all geared up to fight this evil too. Aarogya Setu App launched by the Government of India is one such step to fight this “Pandemic”.

We all know that till now, more than 49000 people have died because of this coronavirus out of 9,65,000 people found infected and counting. 

              Since there is no treatment nor any vaccination available, maintaining social distancing is the only key to combat this highly contagious disease. Recently the government launched it’s MY GOV App to keep an eye on this situation. Arogya Setu App is one step ahead in this path.

 

How to install Aarogya Setu APP-

   Aarogya Setu App can be downloaded and installed from-

The main aim of this app is to caution the people about coronavirus and promote awareness among the people. Meanwhile, it will indirectly reduce the panic too among the people.

How does Aarogya Setu APP work-

Arogya Setu App is basically a tracking APP. It works on the principle of creating a database of known infected people and their surroundings. Once it is identified, anyone who has his mobile location turned “ON” could get an alert regarding the person and that area. 

Is Aarogya Setu App safe and secure –

This App is made to promote awareness and not to extract your data. 

It ensures that the data collected, i.e. mainly location and Bluetooth for distance calculation is encrypted. Thus, it searches in it’s database if anyone reported corona positive has any connection to your locality or not. 

Whereas activation Bluetooth gives you information if you have been around 2 meters of an infected person. 

           No extra information, personal or social, is anywhere accessible to anyone. Even the information you provide is encrypted. 

Pros of Aarogya Setu App-

1. Aarogya Setu App is really a good initiative by the Government of India to spread awareness among the people and help them maintain social distancing. And all are based on simply creating a database of infected people and their place of residence. 
2. Since everyone has a mobile, one can quickly check if he is living in a corona hotspot or not and could exercise extra care.
3. The APP comes in more than a dozen significant languages, thus, making it linguistic friendly for almost every state and location.
4. A thorough location check is done, and your personal location is checked too. Thus, one gets to know if he comes under “LOW RISK” or “HIGH RISK.”

Cons of Aarogya Setu App-

1. The app relies mainly on its database, which is still not complete. One cannot check the state-wise infected person and locality as of now ( while writing this Article). Thus, without a full list, accuracy cannot be right.
2. Again people could manipulate the data too. Thus, the wrong info in the database could mislead also.
3. Few users have reported that the App is not working in the rooted devices. 
4. People are not getting serious about the purpose of installing this APP. Thus, less installation can cause some effect on creating accurate databases.

Conclusion–

     Aarogya Setu App is really a great initiative from the Government. Everyone should install this APP and share others, too, for maintaining the accuracy of this APP.

       To make it more effective, Google should identify this as “Must Install APP” for using a mobile. Thus, the whole purpose of maintaining social distancing will suffice.
